I spent a lot of time this week (while watching water boil and paint dry…I mean proctoring MAP testing) reviewing iPad apps. I came across a terrific blog post from Sylvia Rosenthal Tolisano. Sylvia is the 21st Century Specialist (is that a cool title, or what?) at the Marvin J. Gottlieb Day School in Jacksonville, Florida. Sylvia blogs at www.langwitches.org (langwitches…get it?). She posted a nice piece about using iPads with less of a focus on apps, and more of a focus on using the iPad as a cooperative, creative learning tool. Read the post here.
In her post, Sylvia refers to Wes Fryer’s website. Do pay Wes a visit some time – he’s got a lot of great things to share.
Check out Quandry, “a free, online game that engages your students in ethical decision-making and develops skills that will help them recognize ethical issues and deal with challenging situations in their own lives.” There’s a nice teachers’ section to help you use the gram with your students.
And, finally, this week’s Rosh Hashanah video is brought to you courtesy of the Technion Institute. Enjoy!
