We have many classes that are creating comics using the great application Comic Life. Kids love it, and comics (or “graphic novels”) can be a really wonderful way to turn nonreaders into readers, among other things. A really nice resource is The Digital Comic Museum. It’s full of public domain (which means free to download, use or remix) “Golden Age Comics.” Downloading is free, but you do need to register for an account.

Here’s a great short post about a low-tech tool we all love – the sticky note.

The Neiman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard’s website has a great article on using coverage of Hurricane Sandy to explore different elements of storytelling.
